They needed to show exactly what the reserve does.
I had the honor of filming and editing the Transparency Campaign for Kaetés Reserve, a Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN) created and maintained by the Instituto Marcos Daniel. The campaign aimed to clearly and accessibly answer the public’s main questions about the reserve — including the origin of its funding, land use, management planning, and the positive impact it brings to both the environment and local communities.
Using a direct and visual language, the content reinforces the reserve's commitment to conservation, environmental education, and institutional responsibility. Topics covered include:
- The legal foundation and private ownership of the reserve;
- The international funding sources that supported the land acquisition;
- The protection of endangered species such as the saíra-apunhalada, and the preservation of the Picada Comprida River springs;
- The transition from eucalyptus plantations to native forest regeneration;
- The reserve’s role in scientific research, environmental protection, land management, and public use;
- And the social and economic benefits generated for nearby communities.
Beyond strengthening transparency, this campaign fosters a stronger relationship with the public and serves as inspiration for other conservation initiatives to follow suit.
